Saying hello from the Hamptons, especially in the summer time, brings such happiness with refreshing fun, free spirit! That is the general vibe here during these much awaited and welcomed months where living is easy, beaches are alive with activity and the village streets are full of conversations, laughter and bustle from visitors and locals alike.
Market activity has also been in a relaxed summer mode; evidenced by frequent price reductions and increased length of time between listing and selling. Of course, there are always those homes that come and instantly go but overall, the average length of time on market has been increasing. As predicted back in June, we are noting an uptick in activity as we approach the end of another glorious season. Many have accepted that rates remain where they are; who knows when that will change? The old "marry the house, date the rate" thought is coming more into focus during this winding down of the summer market.
