Hampton Bays
Hampton Bays is located at the easternmost end of the main body of Long Island in Suffolk County, New York. Long Island narrows here between Great Peconic Bay to the north and Shinnecock Bay to the South before continuing with the South Fork region to the West. Surrounded by pristine beaches, this popular community is busy throughout the year with both permanent residents and summertime vacationers. Hampton Bays’ surrounding waterways make it a popular spot for boating, fishing and other fun watersports. Homes in this community span a varied spectrum; from summer bungalows to breathtaking oceanfront estates and everything in between.
Great restaurants can be found dotted all throughout Hampton Bays. Centro Trattoria & Bar is an intimate restaurant and wine bar serving inventive twists on authentic Italian classics. Cowfish, a busting and fun, waterfront restaurant appeals to both meat and fish eaters alike, hence the name. Creative drinks and a gorgeous outdoor bar makes this a great spot to gather and enjoy summer’s chill vibe. Overlooking Shinnecock Bay, Rumba has a captivating castaway appeal with Caribbean cuisine, rum cocktails and reggae music. Amalfi, a newer, waterfront hot spot just before the bridge, has a great summer scene, great food and bar, making its way to become a local fave. Looking for great, fresh seafood for your summer galas? Lighthouse Seafood (formerly Cor-J Seafood) has you covered offering a vast array of fresh fish.
There are several beaches in this hamlet including the renovated Ponquogue Beach on the ocean with an expansive pavilion. This gorgeous sandy beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Hamptons, attracting over 100,000 visitors each year. Pack up friends and family, beach chairs and blankets to settle in and watch the sunset here; it will be a summer evening to remember for sure! A perfect spot for sailing, paddling, snorkeling, swimming and even watching the hermit crabs often found in its shallow waters.
